Summer of Stargate

This is the post to sign up for the Summer of Stargate: SG-1 Big Bang Challenge as an author. Please remember, you are not committed to the SG-1 Big Bang until you submit your rough draft on March 31, 2012—the same day sign-ups close.

April 15 Artists/Vidders/Fanmixers claims sent out
May 30/June 20/July 11 Final story of at least 20,000 words due in the queue for moderated posting**
*Extensions granted upon request (within reason); Amnesty Week available in late July/August for late comers.

Once you've signed up, you'll get an invitation for membership in this community and sos_lounge; this will serve as confirmation that you're part of the Big Bang.

This year stargate_summer is doing something slightly different and we are allowing the authors who signed up but didn’t finish in time for the rough draft deadline a second chance for media contributions.

For this round of claiming there is a very limited number of works (no, really, very limited) and only one media claim per work, so if you’re interested in the story, please claim it quickly.

Here's how claiming works:

What You See: Below the cut is the summary for the story that is eligible for claiming.

To Claim a Story: Reply with the number of the summary and title of the story. We will fill requests first-come, first-served.

Claim Confirmed: Your claim is not confirmed until a moderator has replied to your comment to confirm your claim. If you have have not officially signed up for the challenge, please make sure you sign-up for the challenge at the appropriate post. Your email contact information will be needed to send you the rough draft and allow communication between you and your writer.

If the story is crossed off, that means it already has a claim and is no longer eligible for claiming.

Due Dates All stories and media for this round will be posted during Amnesty Week, August 7–14.

Your story will be accepted as long as you meet the following requirements.

If you do not meet one of the story requirements but still want to participate, please talk to us! We're willing to work with dedicated authors who are close to meeting the requirements, and for those who are having greater difficulties, there may still be a way for you to participate in the 2011 SG-1 Big Bang . . . but you won’t know if you don’t ask!
