Apologies for the late posting but I was on holiday in my campervan in the Outer Hebrides for close on a month and we had very little to no internet access and I apologise for being a little short on words but it felt like it needed to end where it did. Here it is.

Beta: Solstice Winter to whom I am very grateful for checking my work. Please bear in mind that I am British and, although I have a beta who is living in America, I still use some British idioms and those are all mine (eg, the hob is the top of a cooker!).

Summary: Daniel and Jack start a family but someone is threatening their future

Notes: The story starts in the summer of 2007 after the Ark of Truth and is not quite canon so I suppose it’s AU. Daniel is still nominally part of SG1 as are Sam and Teal’c but they all have other duties/responsibilities but Sam doesn’t go to Atlantis until part 2. Mitchell and Vala often take Major Jennifer Hailey and an archaeologist and linguist named Dr Julian Maynard (my own character) when they go off-world. Jack is head of Homeworld Security but has moved the HQ to Cheyenne Mountain and is living with Daniel, quietly! DADT has been repealed (earlier than in the Stargate World) but they are not broadcasting their relationship. Landry still (nominally as Jack is on-site) runs the SGC with Dr Carolyn Lam as CMO. Siler, Harriman etc will all make appearances in their usual capacities. I have had to fudge Cassandra’s age to fit in with this and am ignoring Continuum for now – as it involves time travel, it could actually happen at any time!:

I used Stargate-level science in this story (that is, I mostly found information on Wiki or made it up entirely), and it is a grand old tradition to write Sherlock Holmes ~~Stargate style"homages"~~ pastiches.

Just a reminder that the sign-up period for the SG-1 Reverse Bang closes on the 18th of December. The response thus for, for both artists and authors, has been amazing but there is always plenty of room for more to join in.

The word count minimum is 5000K but the time frame is very generous . For those that do not know what a reverse bang is, it's where our artists produce a collection of SG-1 themed wallpapers and the authors use one (or perhaps more if we have a second round option) as inspiration for a story.

Stories can be any genre and rating.

The rules for the Reverse Big Bang are quite simple:

Artists:

1. Artists submit artwork of a topic/theme of their choosing from within the SG-1 universe.

2. The artwork can be any genre but must be of a G/PG nature only.

3. Image size: 1024 x 768 Format: Jpeg or PNG

4. Images for the challenge are not to be shared anywhere else until the story your image was chosen for has been posted.

5. Manips will be accepted as part of a wallpaper but must be in keeping with the rating of G/PG.

Authors:

1. During the claiming period, all challenge artwork will be posted to the Big Bang Lounge and authors will be able to claim via comment. All comments will be screened and the artwork will be handed out on a first come basis.

2. Minimum word count is 5,000.

3. All stories must be beta'd. A beta reader will be provided if you do not have one.

4. Posting commences on the 7th of May 2017. A date preference post will be issued closer to the deadline.

5. Posting of your story must include the image you selected, giving credit to the artist.

SG-1 Reverse Big Bang

Hello everyone,

For something a little different, we've decided to hold an SG-1 reverse big bang. So, what is a reverse big bang? This is where artists produce wallpapers, and then authors claim whatever wallpaper gives them inspiration and write a story based on that work. At the end of the challenge, both the work and wallpaper are posted together.

Minimum word count for the challenge is approx 5,000. A beta reader will be provided for anyone who requires one. The rules are pretty cut and dry for this challenge. You sign-up, select the piece you get the most inspiration from, write your story, and post on the due date.

The proposed timeline is as follows:

Artist and author sign-ups open: 4th of December 2016
Sign-ups close: 18th of December 2016
Deadline for art submissions: 8th of January 2017
Claiming post goes live: 15th of January 2017
Claiming ends: 22nd January 2017
Deadline for stories: 30th April 2017

Summary: Daniel disappears during SG-1’s mission to contact a society descended from the ancient Sumerians. Secretly in love with Daniel, Jack is especially relieved to get him back. But something is not quite right.

Notes: This story would never have happened without Janice Sager. This past summer I asked for someone to post a screen cap in the Spacemonkey FB group to kick my muse. She posted the cap of Daniel slumped in the teltac, sleeping. Less than twenty four hours later, I had a story outline, the first chapter and a title (which is usually akin to pulling teeth for me) Thank you, Janice for your inspiration.

I also must thank Antares for her stunning artwork.

Lastly, I have to thank Snarky her beta, as well as eilidh17 who kindly agreed to a second review. These ladies did their best; all mistakes are mine.

I did quite a bit of research for this fic. Not all of the sources I used agreed on certain things, such as the role of women in Ancient Mesopotamia. I used the theories that best fit my story. I also indulged in a bit of creative license in recreating the incantations.

Warnings: None really. Jack and Daniel are together but it doesn’t go into the bedroom!

Summary: I wrote a story called “The Key to Infinity” which was published a few years ago by Ashton Press about SG1 and the Clava Thessara Infinitas and although the story finished well and finished Adria off (unfortunately to the demise of Shifu), I never concluded the search for the CTI. The Key to Infinity is now on AO3 so anyone can read it and this is a follow up but will stand alone as a story.

Basically it involves all of SG1, mark 1 and 2 and some of the Atlantis characters. It involves Daniel in a close relationship with Jack but no sexual content will be included.

SG1 consists of Daniel, Mitchell and Vala and Teal’c when he is able. They do not have a heavy mission load. Sam is commanding the Hammond and Jack has moved Homeworld Security to Cheyenne Mountain (only he could convince the President to let that happen!! I believe this happened in the Season 11 written by some brilliant authors). Landry is in charge, Walter Harriman flits between Landry and Jack and Colonel Paul Davis is Jack’s aide and spends most of his time flying between Washington and Colorado Springs!!

Jack has bought his old house back (at a ridiculously inflated price). Sam and Rodney, together have learned how to recharge and backwards engineer the ZPM so there are no power problems for dialling Pegasus.

Daniel is convinced the CTI exists. Morgan-le-Fay was quite adamant about that and SG1 have seen a copy. He becomes obsessed (what’s new) with researching this and there will be quite a lot of dialogue where he convinces Landry and Jack that he must go to Ireland to follow up leads. Sam, from the nature of her job, is side-lined a bit. Teal’c probably comes back to Earth more than he should in support of Daniel and the latter has Jack wrapped round his finger!

This is the second in a trilogy which involves the search for the CTI and for Destiny.

Summary: Upon awakening SG-1 find themselves connected to an alien device. They soon realize a familiar enemy has returned to conquer Earth, this time with much more success. Now SG-1 must avoid recapture, learn how much of their world has been infiltrated by the aliens, and attempt to free the planet. It does not make things easier that anyone they meet could be one of the aliens hiding behind a familiar face.
