For the artists, vidders, and fanmixers who are returning, claims are running a little differently this year. Instead of having a first-come, first-served claiming in which we cross out claims throughout the day, we’ll be asking all of our media contributors to fill out a claim form, selecting between 2 and 6 stories you’re interested in working on. After that, the moderators will go over the lists—doing our best to give you your first or second choice—and assuring each story has at least one claim (and hopefully at least one artist or vidder).

The biggest reason for this change is that your moderators are busier this April than they have been in the past and doing the constant updates isn’t an option this year.

Here’s the run down of what to expect on April 9.

Claims will open between 7am and 8:30am EST.
The claim post will have the rules and all of the story summaries eligible for claiming.
Choose at least 2 and at most 6 stories you’d like to work on. Complete the form below and submit it as a reply to the claim post.
Make sure you submit your claim before the end of the day on April 11! We will give priority based on when we receive claims, so claiming sooner gives you a better chance at your first pick.
As usual, we want two media contributors for each story, so if you think you can work on two stories (or three, in the case of a pinch hit) to fulfill the minimum requirements—those being, 3 pieces of art, 1 vid, or 1 fanmix (of at least 6 songs)—please sign up for a second claim. This could be a way for you to still work on your first-choice story.
