Summary: Daniel disappears during SG-1’s mission to contact a society descended from the ancient Sumerians. Secretly in love with Daniel, Jack is especially relieved to get him back. But something is not quite right.

Notes: This story would never have happened without Janice Sager. This past summer I asked for someone to post a screen cap in the Spacemonkey FB group to kick my muse. She posted the cap of Daniel slumped in the teltac, sleeping. Less than twenty four hours later, I had a story outline, the first chapter and a title (which is usually akin to pulling teeth for me) Thank you, Janice for your inspiration.

I also must thank Antares for her stunning artwork.

Lastly, I have to thank Snarky her beta, as well as

eilidh17 who kindly agreed to a second review. These ladies did their best; all mistakes are mine.

I did quite a bit of research for this fic. Not all of the sources I used agreed on certain things, such as the role of women in Ancient Mesopotamia. I used the theories that best fit my story. I also indulged in a bit of creative license in recreating the incantations.

Warnings: None really. Jack and Daniel are together but it doesn’t go into the bedroom!

Summary: I wrote a story called “The Key to Infinity” which was published a few years ago by Ashton Press about SG1 and the Clava Thessara Infinitas and although the story finished well and finished Adria off (unfortunately to the demise of Shifu), I never concluded the search for the CTI. The Key to Infinity is now on AO3 so anyone can read it and this is a follow up but will stand alone as a story.

Basically it involves all of SG1, mark 1 and 2 and some of the Atlantis characters. It involves Daniel in a close relationship with Jack but no sexual content will be included.

SG1 consists of Daniel, Mitchell and Vala and Teal’c when he is able. They do not have a heavy mission load. Sam is commanding the Hammond and Jack has moved Homeworld Security to Cheyenne Mountain (only he could convince the President to let that happen!! I believe this happened in the Season 11 written by some brilliant authors). Landry is in charge, Walter Harriman flits between Landry and Jack and Colonel Paul Davis is Jack’s aide and spends most of his time flying between Washington and Colorado Springs!!

Jack has bought his old house back (at a ridiculously inflated price). Sam and Rodney, together have learned how to recharge and backwards engineer the ZPM so there are no power problems for dialling Pegasus.

Daniel is convinced the CTI exists. Morgan-le-Fay was quite adamant about that and SG1 have seen a copy. He becomes obsessed (what’s new) with researching this and there will be quite a lot of dialogue where he convinces Landry and Jack that he must go to Ireland to follow up leads. Sam, from the nature of her job, is side-lined a bit. Teal’c probably comes back to Earth more than he should in support of Daniel and the latter has Jack wrapped round his finger!

This is the second in a trilogy which involves the search for the CTI and for Destiny.

Also, a big SPOILER WARNING: this story pays homage to Sally Malcolm’s Fandemonium books "The Cost of Honor" and "A Matter of Honor." I loved these two books, so I made Hank Boyd, SG-10, and their story part of my own narrative, a clear deviation from canon. The Joker'verse version of SGA S05e10 and SGA S05e11, written for the 2015 Stargate: SG-1 Big Bang Challenge

WARNING: People say "fuck" a lot in this story. Especially Merry.

Notes: Joker'verse is an SG1/SGA/NCIS/NCIS: Los Angeles fusion universe in which Daniel Jackson and Rodney McKay are genderflipped. This story takes place between "Said The Joker To The Thief" and "At Midnight All The Agents" and I have no idea why its title isn't taken from the lyrics to "Desolation Row", but sometimes these things happen.

I would like to thank the members of the Academy, and also my patient and long-suffering co-author greenbirds, who put up with more drama from me than there is in all twelve seasons of NCIS, and Shippen Stand for pointing out lapses of exposition, and everyone who answered my plaintive and increasingly-desperate pleas for canon checks (to this day, I have not yet seen every episode of Stargate: Atlantis).

Additionally, I would like to thank eilidh17 for her helpfulness, patience, and general sanity (although I'm not sure that anybody running a Big Bang really qualifies), and magnavox_23 for her gorgeous, glorious, inspiring artwork.

2015 SG-1 Big Bang - Let the story posting commence!

Welcome to the 2015 SG-1 Big Bang!

There are 14 authors participating in this year's challenge, with stories spread across a wide variety of genres, and all guaranteed to take us on a wild ride of team-y goodness, angst, humor, adventure, and a whole lot more!

Each weekend from now until December 20th will see a new adventured revealed. From torturous plots, to characters that needed wrestling to the ground by their writers, our authors will delight you with their latest creations, all of which took an awful amount of effort and angst to produce.

Plenty of room on the Big Bang sofa so grab a seat, some snacks, and get comfortable! The first story will be posted today.

This year the challenge will be hosted on Livejournal, Dreamwidth and AO3, with sign up and participation available through all three sites.

For those wishing to participate through AO3, please click on the SG-1 Big Bang to access the collection site, and then click on 'Profile' for the rules. Due to limitations with the AO3 interface, stage instructions, sign ups and any other relevant information will be posted directly to the site as an entry. This allows participants and other interested parties to leave comments to that post. The sign up process will require prospective participants to copy the sign up form from the sign up entry post and copy it to a comment. Almost exactly how the process is conduction on the journals.

Running this challenge for the past three years has been a labor of love, and while we’re sad to step away, we’re also eager to have more time to possibly be participants again!
