Beta If you do not have a regular beta and need one, we recommend the livejournal community sg1betas.

Cheerleader Once signups have started, there are three ways you can be matched with a cheerleader.

  1.  Head to the Cheerleader Sign-Up post and, if you see someone you'd like to work with, reply to their comment and the two of you can sort out contact information, how often you'll be in contact, and any other details.

  2.  A cheerleader may reply to your comment here to offer their services. If they do and you'd like to work with them, please go to the Cheerleader Sign-Up post to confirm that you'll be working together.

  3.  On Fridays, the moderators will see which cheerleaders have not been matched and will match unmatched authors and cheerleaders as needed.

If you and your cheerleader do not work out, please contact a moderator and let us know as soon as possible. Sometimes schedules or personalities just don’t mesh and there’s nothing wrong with that. We’ll match you with another cheerleader as soon as one is available.

Once you've signed up, you'll get an invitation for membership in this community and [community profile] sos_lounge; this will serve as confirmation that you're part of the Big Bang. We'll match authors and cheerleaders as needed on Fridays.

OK, here goes!

I thought I would wait til later to commit, but I'm up to 9,000 words already and I have more than two months to get the rough draft done, so I think it's safe to jump in.

Do you want to be matched with a cheerleader? Got one, thanks! :D
If so, what should your cheerleader know about your planned story? N/A

Optional:
What do you plan to write? A Jack/Daniel story loosely based on the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast
Have you written a novel-length story before? I think I have two pieces that hit the 25,000 word mark, but they were written episodically, never in one big swoop. This will be the first time I have done something this long in one piece.
What is your favorite SG-1 canon moment? So many! I think invisible Jack walking down the hall with Teal'c making bad puns about his obvious motives. Or possibly Teal'c telling Jack that undomesticated bovines could not remove him (or whatever the quote was) and Jack telling him not to make him laugh. Or Daniel literally hopping in anger at Jack on the planet of the little white plant guys. OK. Not succeeding in picking one here...

Oh! And if it is not bad form, I will be crossposting over to a journal of the same name on LJ.

And crossposting is not only allowed but encouraged! We'll have more details about that when we get close to the posting dates.

Am amused that I could be quite lonely over there in the DreamWidth SOS lounge. Will try to maintain an active discussion, however! :D

You can also join us on LJ, if you'd rather hang out where the people are.
