This is the post to sign up for the Summer of Stargate: SG-1 Big Bang Challenge as a cheerleader. Sign-ups will continue until March 31, 2011, though cheerleaders should sign up earlier to truly be of assistance to writers.
Cheerleader Timeline
January 3 Cheerleader and Author sign-ups open
January 4 Cheerleading starts!
March 31 Author's rough draft due to moderators
May 15 Author's final story of at least 20,000 words due for May/June posting
June 19 Author's final story of at least 20,000 words due for July posting
July 17 Author's final story of at least 20,000 words due for August posting
Before signing up, please review the rules. Please note: As a cheerleader, you will not be expected to beta-edit the story (unless you make other arrangements with your specific author); your role is to grab the pom-poms and help keep your author's enthusiasm and spirits high.
When you sign up, please comment with the following information.
For easy cut-and-paste:
Once sign-ups have started, there are three ways you can be matched with an author.
If you and your author do not work out, please contact a moderator and let us know as soon as possible. Sometimes schedules or personalities just don’t mesh and there’s nothing wrong with that. We’ll match you with another author as soon as one is available.
Once you've signed up, you'll get an invitation for membership in this community and
sos_lounge; this will serve as confirmation that you’re part of the Big Bang. We'll start matching authors and cheerleaders as needed in about a week.

Once sign-ups have started, there are three ways you can be matched with an author.
- Authors looking for cheerleaders will come to this post to see who might be a good match. Authors will reply to your comment, and the two of you can sort out contact information, how often you'll be in contact, and any other details.
- If you see a specific author you'd like to work with in the Author Sign-Up post, reply to their sign-up comment to offer your services. The moderators will only be monitoring this post for unmatched cheerleaders, so please make sure either you or the author updates your status in this post, specifying who is working together. Otherwise we'll think you're free and may try to pair you with someone else.
- If you haven't been approached by an author, nor have you found an author on your own, the moderators will match you with an author who has requested a cheerleader. The moderators will go through the post on Fridays to match authors and cheerleaders.
