Here's how claiming will work:
What You See: Below the cut are summaries for each story that is eligible for claiming in the 2011 SG-1 Big Bang. Included with the summary are ratings, warnings, and posting-date restrictions for the author.
To Claim a Story: Reply with the number of the summary and title of the story. It would be most helpful for you to provide your First Choice and Second Choice to make this process easier for everyone. We will fill requests first-come, first-served, and if someone is a second ahead of you, we'll give you your second-choice story.
Second Claim: Based on our previous experience we know that it will behoove us to have some media contributors claim more than one story--whether it's two art contributions, two vids, two fanmixes, or some combination (eg, one art and one fanmix). To be fair, we’re going to wait a day before opening the second round of claims, to allow everyone a chance to request their first choice. On April 10 we will be allowing media contributors to claim more than one story and for stories to have a second claim placed on them.*
*Please note: You cannot “switch” your claim. If your first choice story on April 9 is claimed and you are assigned your second choice, please be prepared to fill the claim for that choice. You may submit a second claim on April 10 for the other story, but you will not be released from your previous claim.
Claim Confirmed: Your claim is not confirmed until a moderator has replied to your comment to confirm your claim. If you have claimed someone and have not officially signed up for the challenge, please make sure you sign-up for the challenge at the appropriate post. Your email contact information will be needed to send you the rough draft and allow communication between you and your writer.
If a story is crossed off, that means it already has a claim and is no longer eligible for that round of claiming.
There are currently no due dates assigned! Once you've claimed the story, you and your author will need to claim a posting month (those claims will happen around April 20), and then dates will be assigned.
CLAIMS ARE OPEN UNTIL APRIL 14 OR UNTIL ALL STORIES HAVE 2 CLAIMS. Rough drafts will be emailed with author contact information by April 15.

Story Summaries
01 Jigsaw (PC-13)

Warnings: multiple major character deaths (off-screen, before the start of the story)
Summary:
Jack wakes up in the SGC to the news that his team is dead. If he weren't hearing the news from General Hammond he might not believe it--and even so it's not quite real until he sees the bodies. Once he does, he knows nothing is ever going to be the same again.
Sam wakes up in the SGC to the news that she is now the senior member of SG-1. Jack O'Neill is dead. For Sam and her team, nothing is ever going to be the same again.
SG-1 might be able to go on like this--Sam's going to keep her team together if it kills her--but a man who's lost his team is capable of anything, and Jack's about to do the unthinkable to make things right.
02 Beauty (NC-17)

Summary: AU (roughly based on Beauty and the Beast)
During combat operations somewhere in Northern Kuwait or Southern Iraq, Jack O'Neill becomes the Air Force "liaison" to a local warlord known as The Beast. The Beast provides every comfort to his hostage, and dines with him every evening. Every evening, the Beast proposes they sleep together, and every evening, Jack says "no." Over time, Jack and the Beast develop a friendship, that leads to their romantic entanglement. But when Jack must return to the United States when his son Charlie is in an accident, the Beast falls into the hands of his enemies. Will Jack return in time to rescue him, and can the Beast be redeemed for the crimes that earned him his name?
03 A Dog's Life (PG)

Summary:
An alien spirit has 'borrowed' Daniel Jackson's body, promising to return it in two month's time. But Daniel discovers another spirit has hostile designs on Samantha Carter. In order to protect her, he has no choice but to inhabit the body of a dog. Guarding her from all threats, he hides his true identity, as well as his secret love for her.
But a dog's life is a dangerous thing, and the threats Daniel faces off-world pale in comparison to the peril he faces on Earth itself. In the end, saving Sam may prove easier than saving himself.
04 Hostage of the Mind (R)

Summary:
Off world, Jack and Daniel become the unwilling participants in a painful experiment. They escape back to Earth, but implants place Jack, Daniel, and the SGC in danger. With the help of their teammates, Daniel and Jack rush to find a solution before someone gets hurt or worse, killed.
When Jacob Carter's attempt to help fails, the team is forced to take a ha'tak to the planet. Unfortunately, the voyage is long and hazardous, and Jack is slowly losing control over his long-hidden feelings and dangerous craving for Daniel.
05 Triumvirate (NC-17)

Summary:
Of course the mission would go awry. And of course Sam, Jack, and Daniel would return home telepathically linked, hearing each other’s thoughts and feeling each other’s emotions. When the plan to disconnect them blows up in their faces, they have to admit that they may be better off breaking up SG-1. But a stranger appears with another option, but with a heavy price. In exchange for her help, they’ll have to help reignite a centuries-old civil war, and live with the consequences.
06 Steamgate (Working Title) (NC-17)

Summary: steampunk AU
Colonel Jack O'Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson meet by chance in the steampunk town of Seattle, Washington and are instantly drawn together by something they can't quite describe. When Jack learns that Daniel's archaeology class is in need of transportation, he jumps at the chance (if only to spend more time with the intriguing young man) and offers up his services as an AirShip Force pilot. However, the expedition takes a turn for the worst when a mechanical terror lays siege to the camp.
Now Jack is MIA, and it's up to an injured Daniel to find him and save the day. But even if he succeeds, neither man will ever be quite the same again.
07 Fledglings (NC-17)

Summary:
After Jack mysteriously grows wings, the SGC assigns him to command the new Gamma Site, where the SGC has an important naquadah mine. Everyone is concerned as Jack's behavior becomes more erratic and alien. Daniel decides to move his department to be permanently based at the Gamma Site, hoping that he can help Jack to stay more human, and prevent him from flying away entirely. Then one day, a group of flying aliens with wings like Jack's appears and carries Daniel away. Dramatic mountain landscapes! Winged!Jack! Intriguing alien cultures! Ancient technology! Evil Apophis! And will everyone at the Gamma Site soon have wings just like Jack's?
08 Undercover: the Life of a Tok'ra Operative (NC-17)
Pairings: Jolinar/OC, Rosha/Jolinar/Lantash (w/ OC host for Lantash)
Warnings: (in the context of depictions of a goa’uld court) mentions of rape, dub-con, torture, executions; minor character deaths; violence; explicit sex (het); sexual situations (het, femslash, multiple)
Summary:
The life of an undercover Tok'ra operative is never easy—a lesson Jolinar and her hosts learn again and again, first when she is discovered in Cronus's court, and again under Zipacna. Despite convincing the Jaffa she is a god, Jolinar must flee again, this time taking a new host—Rosha—and beginning a journey that will one day lead her to meeting SG-1.
09 (Untitled) (PG)
Pairings: Cam/Vala (in epilogue)

Summary:
While on a mission, SG-1 encounters some alien tech that renders Sam, Daniel, and Vala temporarily six years old. While Sam and Daniel struggle to adjust as any six year old would, Vala has a few more issues with being on a different planet surrounded by unfamiliar sights and technology. Cam finds himself taking her in when she latches on to him, and realizes a few things about both of them.
10 Beloved (R)
Pairings: none
Warnings: dark themes, language, violence, torture, suicidal ideation and attempted suicide (not graphic), attempted non-con; canon mind control and drugging, canon non-con (expanded upon but not graphic)
Summary:
Hathor is gone. The SGC is safe, but the victory comes with a huge price for the men. Hathor no longer controls their minds, but the drug she used to do it hasn't left their bodies, and it's not letting them go without a fight. As if the physical damage Hathor did wasn't enough, her drug starts manipulating their emotions, amplifying the most extreme, and the more time they spent with her, the worse their reactions are. Jack and Daniel are fighting their way through dealing with their own experiences with Hathor, returning memories of what they saw happen to each other, and the well-intentioned but poorly executed interference from outsiders that they just want to leave them alone. That would be more than enough for anyone to handle.
Then Daniel remembers that even though Hathor left a few things that belonged to her behind, she didn't leave empty-handed.
11 Forward Distortion: The Day We Have (NC-17)
Pairings: Daniel/Vala
Warnings: non-con (implied oral, anal, bukkake); sexual torture; explicit

Summary:
The former team members of SG-1 reunite on Col. Samantha Carter's USS Hammond to bring the Ark of Truth to a remote planet off the Stargate network where a renegade Prior is rumored to enslave the population in the production of kassa. Along the way, Sam's tests on the Ark cause disturbing side effects involving dreams of events that Teal'c won't corroborate. And of course once SG-1 reaches the planet, things don't go according to plan...

Summary:
After inadvertently saving the only survivor of a Goa'uld attack, Sam finds herself acting as guardian to a young girl who is a product of experiments conducted by the Ancients thousands of years ago. When the temporary arrangement becomes permanent, Sam must find a way to reconcile this new responsibility with the ones she already owes to the Air Force as well as figuring out how this new relationship will affect the ones she has with SG-1 and her father.

Summary: crossover (Naruto, sequel to Of the Sands from 2010 SG-1 Big Bang)
Sequel to Of the Sands, several years after coming to live in the Naruto alternate universe, it is time for the SG clones to take the Chunin exams. Not only do they have to go through several tests in order to determine their skills to become Chunin, they are also being tested in loyalty and morals as Suna plans an attack on Konoha and the SG clones have to decide whether or not they will participate in it.
